Family History

As many involved with family history will recognise, I have come across
information that may well be of use to others as they persue their interests.
To this end I offer data that may interest some researchers.

 Jo's Scrapbook

When my Mother-in -law, Helen Jocelyn Corbin (nee CHILD), died in 2002 we discovered a scrapbook that she had kept from the age of 16 in the 1930's The newspaper cuttings contain many names and events reported in Trinidad both during the second World War and pre and post war periods. The dates run from 1936 to 1949.
Those people researching Trinidadian family history during the 1930's and 1940's might find that a list of names from that time might be of some interest and open further avenues of research.
If you click on the links below the database will open in Excel (the csv version is included for those using other databases).
.
I have attempted to list all names that appear in these articles together with dates and sources. The letter "g" refers to an entry from the Trinidad Guardian, "e" refers to the Express.

These newspapers can be seen in the British Library on microfilm. I found the staff very helpful when I visited but you may find it convenient to pre-book any material that you wish to look at.
